Our school has been selected to participate in a one-to-one project along with 21 other schools throughout the city. The seventh graders have had tablets for almost a year and the sixth grade will be receiving tablets in early June 2007.
The purpose of this pilot program is to change the way in which we educate students. Technology is now an integral part of the curriculum. Students are researching topics in science, creating power point projects, and using word processing when creating their essays and poetry. In mathematics, students are using Geometric Sketchpad and practicing and learning mathematics skillls using online activities. At the same time, the teachers are dynamically presenting their lessons using technology based lessons.
